Resting In Your Peace

The wind is whispering of joy,
While waves dance to the shore
And I am calling it a night
With pleasant dreams in store.

The day was long, but I can rest
Knowing You brought me through.
A time or two I had my doubts,
But never doubted You.

Life has its ups and downs alright,
It puts us to the test,
But, when I live with faith in You,
My spirit is at rest.

Wait On The Lord

So many times I went astray,
But not out of Your sight.
Though I had wandered through the dark,
You drew me to Your Light.

I cannot understand a love
That would not let me go,
Despite such waywardness of heart.
Oh Lord, You love me so.

I always knew You were my Lord,
Of that I had no doubt,
But it took time for me to learn
What that truth was about.

I’ve learned to trust You when in fear,
To listen when You speak,
And know The Word that lives in You
Is all I need to seek.

I do not wander now, Oh Lord,
For I wait patiently.
I stand in faith and boldly praise
The Lord whose love saved me.

Lamentations 3:26
It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

Starting With Me

That still small voice that brings me peace,
Seems to be hard to find.
Which might be caused in large part by
My own hard heart and mind.

I’m not saying I’m over it,
This broken world, as such,
But I am sure leaning that way,
Perhaps a bit too much.

That frustration and discontent
Can lead me give in
To pointing out and condemning
A fellow sinner’s sin.

Yet, chastisement from rage, not grace
Is painful to receive,
And isn’t likely to express
The truth that I believe.

So, that leads me back to the place
From which I first began.
I need to seek His forgiveness,
Then share it, where I can.

2 Timothy 2:24-25
And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth
