Psalm 61:4-5

Psalm 61:4-5
I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. For you, God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

I live within Your mercy, Lord,
Walking in faith with You.
And I try to live my life as
You’ve asked that we each do.

I know I fall short every day
Of who I ought to be,
But I am grateful, despite that,
That You’ve forgiven me.

And so I vow, within each dawn
To try, once more, to walk
Closer to You than yesterday
And do more than just talk.

I know that there are many still
Who do not know Your name,
And some who do, will turn away
To walk deeper in shame.

But I have been blessed to know You
From birth until this day,
And I was taught to call on You
When I have lost my way.

So, I pray daily for wisdom
Enough to set me straight
Upon the path that leads to You,
Before it is too late.

Psalm 60:2-4

Psalm 60:2-4
You have shaken the land and torn it open; mend its fractures, for it is quaking. You have shown your people desperate times; you have given us wine that makes us stagger. But for those who fear you, you have raised a banner to be unfurled against the bow

The power of the Lord is great
To heal or to destroy,
He shatters the world with a thought,
Or restores it to joy.

And there are times life feels the same,
Crumbling beneath out feet.
We call out to Him in despair,
In anguish, and defeat.

But we forget that, through the pain,
He also brings new life,
And He can heal what is destroyed
By this world’s grief and strife.

The promise of eternity
Gets lost along the way,
When we are focused on the pain
That haunts our day to day.

Tonight, I lift a prayer to You,
For those walking in fear.
Please give them comfort in their pain
And let them know You’re near.

Remind them that the broken earth
Heals with a word from You,
And that same Grace can heal the pain
That this life puts us through.

Psalm 59:16-17

Psalm 59:16-17
But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.

You are my strength and my fortress,
Your protection won’t cease.
When all the world is chaotic,
In You, I find such peace.

I turn to You when all the world
Leaves me without a hope,
And You are there to remind me
That, with You, I can cope.

I sing my praises to the Lord
Who is my Rock and Shield,
And though the world might tear at me,
I’ll stand and will not yield

As long as I am standing on
The Rock that is my strength,
And in the Shelter of His Peace
I’ll find mine, too, at length!

An Apology

I am so very sorry to have been out of touch this past 10 days or so. I had the opportunity to take a vacation with precious friends and there was very limited internet access where we were. I'm back now and on task again.

God Bless you all for your patience with me!
