For Unto Us

 

For unto us a child was born,
The Everlasting King,
The Good Shepherd, the Redeemer
Of whom the heavens sing.
 
He came to heal the souls of man,
To lead us back to grace.
He paid the price we could not pay,
By dying in our place.
 
Yet, before all of that was done,
He gave up heaven’s throne
To be born in a cold stable,
His crib, a trough of stone.
 
For unto us a child was born,
Wonderful Counselor,
Born to bring Light to a dark world,
And our lost souls restore.
 
Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
