The moonlight lay across the bay
And all the world was still.
Even the crickets abandoned
Their endless, nightly trill.
I held my breath, knowing somehow,
Before the night was through,
That I would find that which I sought,
The peace that comes from You.
I settled in the night’s stillness,
And waited patiently
Until I heard You speak my name.
Then I slept peacefully,
Psalm 4:8
In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
