He had planted that old garden
Long before he passed away,
And I had grieved unceasingly
Until I saw it that day.
It was just a quiet moment
Filled with a simple joy,
Reminding me that small delights
Can heal what tears destroy.
I will carry that small lesson
Throughout ensuing years.
Seeking always to find the joy
When life seems washed in tears.
Psalm 126:5
Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy
