I hide my face from You in shame

For I have lived in doubt.
When I should have had faith in You
I’ve let life stress me out.
When I should have given You praise,
I'd think, “That was all me!",
And when I heard You call my name
I'd rush by hurriedly.
 
But through all that, You loved me still,
You answered every call,
And each time that I tripped on pride
You’d hold me through the fall.
So, Lord, I hide my face in shame.
I'm grateful You love me,
And I'll strive from this moment on
To be who I should be.
