As day slid slowly to the sea,
It seemed as if the soft breeze spoke
As it went drifting by.
“Don’t worry about what’s not done,
Just start again at dawn.
The only way to finish it
Is rise and carry on.
Don’t let the concerns of the day
Hold you back from your sleep,
Tomorrow will hold worries, too,
And promises to keep.
Don’t lie awake with burdened mind
For what might lie in store.
Tomorrow is still in God’s hands;
He offers so much more.”
I sat and watched the sun go down
Across the twilight sea,
Then gave my worries up to God,
Who gave peace back to me.
