I am not quite perfected yet,
I’m still awash in sin,But I’ve learned that, to finish, Lord,
It’s crucial to begin.
So I rise up with each new dawn
And try it yet again,
To live my life as You desire,
Without the stain of sin.
As You can see I’m not there yet,
Much to my own chagrin,
But You have promised, though I fail,
You’ll still forgive my sin.
