I get so caught up in my day
I don’t slow down to see
The lovely world that you have made
And laid out just for me.
The leaves are budding on the trees
While new blooms start to show,
And yet I don’t take time to watch
The blossoms as they grow.
There is no reason for such haste,
The work will still be there,
If I take time out, now and then,
To sniff the fresh spring air.
